Anne Rose - God Performed a Miracle in My Little Girl's Life... "...God Performed a Miracle in My Little Girl's Life."

August 8th, 2002

I am a mother of three. I have a three year old son, and 20 month old boy/girl twins. This story is about my little girl Anna.

My pregnancy with the twins was normal, no complications. Several weeks after the twins were born, I started to notice big differences in each of them. My little boy Jacob seemed to be very alert and on track with all his milestones. But, Anna was very floppy and non-responsive. In fact, her tongue lagged out most of the time. She had trouble even holding up her head sometimes at 5 months old. I started trying to feed her rice cereal at 6 months old and couldn't because she could not close her mouth or pull her tongue in. She would not bear any weight on her legs. It was as if she had no muscle tone. She would smile but it was very rarely. It was hard because I had her brother to compare her to and knew something was wrong and that she should be doing all the things that he was.

At her 6 months well baby check-up, her doctor gently informed me that she was 3 months behind her brother developmentally. I was devastated. He sent us to specialists, geneticists, and physical therapists. Finally they diagnosed her as being hypotonic, which means very low muscle tone. And wanted us to take her to therapy twice a week. I didn't know if she would ever crawl or walk. The doctors wanted us to have her put to sleep and get an MRI. My husband and I cried out to Jesus and begged him to please if there was any way in His most perfect will for her life to heal her.

The next morning was Sunday. We took her down for prayer at the alter, the whole church began to pray for her. Just as simple as that, God performed a miracle in my little girl's life.

The very next morning - I will never forget. I woke up and saw a sparkle and a gleam in Anna's eye. I knew something was different. I put her in an exerciser and before that morning she would just sit there non-responsive, but that Monday morning she began to jump and raise her arms and grin from ear to ear. By the end of the week she had caught up with her brother in everything. Her tongue didn't stick out anymore. She could eat with a spoon. And then soon after not only had she caught up with her brother, she started doing everything ahead of him!

We took her back to see the doctor and to show all of them what Jesus had done for her. The doctor wrote his report and it stated no explanation other than drastic improvement. Incredible. Now, Anna can run, jump, go up and down stairs, turn around in circles, say lots of words and laugh all the time about everything. She can always make you smile. I am still amazed that God chose to do a miracle in our lives. We are so unworthy. I never want to stop giving Him praise.
