Hello Dear One,
In gratitude to
you and all the love you've given me, I share my story of the power in the
admission that I need do nothing. I finally gave up on trying to fix my
marriage or by thinking that I could control anything except how I was
perceiving things.
It was a couple
of days before Thanksgiving and my husband had decided to have a separate
feast with his sisters family that lives in N.C. So I thought I'd go to
Richmond and have a separate feast with some friends. My two daughters
asked why aren't we getting a turkey and having our feast together. My
reply was, "I'm not buying a bird, I'm not cooking and we're going to
Richmond!" So my husband went his way and the girls and I went our way.
The day after
Thanksgiving my 18 year old worked at Dairy Queen and had no idea that she
was given a turkey for the holiday by her employer. As she came home with
the bird, my eyes lit up with surprise!
So I helped my
two daughters prepare this feast and in walks my husband back early from
N.C. He had originally planned on spending the entire week-end in N.C. And
as we sat together that night and gave thanks, I realized that time was
arranged for this unity, the bird was present, and my family was together.
And as my husband gave blessings, I sobbed because I was grateful that I
had nothing to do with it, only that I had stepped back and let him
(Jesus) lead the way. I Need Do Nothing! Paula in Va.
